THE JOURNAL CLUB DECEMBER EDITION
“Even though you have learned the skill of running on empty, now is the time to learn the art of breathing deep all over again"

DECEMBER THEME: AN UNHURRIED MOMENT
This time of year can be a lot. For most, this month usually passes by quickly in a blur of stress, joy, family, travel, and all the tiny bits in between.
Hands up if you feel overwhelmed and burnt out by the time the New Year is here!
Let’s make this year different.
Let’s use our journals to commit to taking some time this month to create an unhurried moment. To breathe in what you need and to exhale all that you don’t.
WRITING PROMPT:
I breathe in . . . (something you want), I breathe out . . . (something you want to release)
ART-MAKING PROMPT:
Experiment with creating ‘wet on wet’. For example, writing with paint/ink on a background that hasn’t dried fully.
MONTHLY TOP TIP:
Think about where you keep your journal, is it beside your bed, in your bag, on your desk? Making sure your journal is accessible is important when it comes to using it as a supportive tool for your own self-care. Pick it up and flick through your pages often to remind yourself of your self-care needs.
CLUB MEMBER SUBMISSIONS FOR YOUR INSPIRATION:
REMEMBER:
Think of the prompt as an opportunity to exercise your creativity, as a jumping-off point to interpret however you like, with zero pressure to create perfect art, there is no right or wrong way to respond!
We are looking forward to seeing what you create, be sure to send us a photo of your work or tag us and use #CHHJournalClub on Instagram, and we’ll share our favourites right here inside The Journal Club.
